What the sign says

The stretch may be driven only with metal chains on at least two drive wheels of the same axle. Winter tyres, however new, replace nothing.

The exam trap

The duty ends only at the end-of-snow-chains sign. Fit the chains at the place provided, off the carriageway, never in the lane.
