What the sign says
The sign marks a hotel or motel. It is a service sign: it informs without prescribing anything.
The exam trap
It stands only where the establishment would be invisible or hard to find, and never carries its name: road signs are not an advertising medium.

The signs are the official depictions by the Federal Roads Office, from the annexes of the Signalling Ordinance (SR 741.21): official works, unprotected under Art. 5 of the Copyright Act. The explanations, by contrast, are written from federal law — never taken from a third-party catalogue.
