Turn left
Regulatory signsSign no. 2.38OSR art. 24
What the sign says
The driver must turn left at the point signposted. On the motorway the same sign orders a move onto the contraflow carriageway in the direction shown.
The exam trap
It is the counterpart of turn-right, not the mandatory-direction-left sign: that one requires turning before the sign, this one at the point signposted.

Signs and road markings
The signs are the official depictions by the Federal Roads Office, from the annexes of the Signalling Ordinance (SR 741.21): official works, unprotected under Art. 5 of the Copyright Act. The explanations, by contrast, are written from federal law — never taken from a third-party catalogue.
