What the sign says

The first panel of a motorway interchange, 1500 metres before the point where the number of lanes increases. Its name appears on a supplementary plate.

The exam trap

An interchange's sequence is longer than an exit's: 1500 m, 1000 m, 500 m, then the lane panel. Because there you change motorway, not merely leave it.
