Mandatory direction to the right
Regulatory signsSign no. 2.32OSR art. 24
What the sign says
The driver must turn right before the sign. That word is what separates it from the turn-right sign, which applies at the point signposted.
The exam trap
You meet it in front of an impassable obstacle or at the mouth of a one-way street: passing the sign would already mean driving the wrong way.

Signs and road markings
The signs are the official depictions by the Federal Roads Office, from the annexes of the Signalling Ordinance (SR 741.21): official works, unprotected under Art. 5 of the Copyright Act. The explanations, by contrast, are written from federal law — never taken from a third-party catalogue.
