Maximum speed 50 km/h
Regulatory signsSign no. 2.30OSR art. 22 · OCR art. 4a
What the sign says
The general limit in built-up areas. The place-name sign alone triggers it, with no speed disc needed.
The exam trap
Exceeding by more than 25 km/h in a built-up area means losing your licence, not just a fine. The threshold is lower than elsewhere — deliberately.

The signs are the official depictions by the Federal Roads Office, from the annexes of the Signalling Ordinance (SR 741.21): official works, unprotected under Art. 5 of the Copyright Act. The explanations, by contrast, are written from federal law — never taken from a third-party catalogue.
